Does anyone know how to establish the number of free memory slots in an
Itanium server running 64-bit Windows Enterprise Edition (apart from
physically open the server to check on free slots)?

We think the memory is made up from 3 x 8GB quads but cannot be sure. Is
there a command available that can be run on the server to show the actual
memory layout?

There are commands to do this from Unix, so we know the hardware is capable
of reporting this level of detail to the OS, we're just not aware of a
command to issue in Windows to get this info.

Wouldn't Itanium server memory slots vary according to the type of Server
purchased.

Hello adl,
I am not sure this is available inside the OS, unless the vendor supplies
an applet that shows the slots and has indicators as to which are occupied.
On at least one Itanium machines there was a EFI shell command that showed
the slots with memory and the slots without memory.
Thanks,

Many motherboards have utilities that supply this information. Also, my
video card came with such utility
