I'm receiving the following error when attempting to install Quark Express 6.1:

Error 1720. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script
required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support
personnel or package vendor.

I've successfully installed this software on another maching running XP SP2.
I've read on another forum about installing Windows Script 5.6 to correct the
problem, but was unable to find a version of this for XP Pro x64.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Jared Price

Have you contacted Quark to find out if the software is compatible with
Windows XP Professional x64 or an update that will enable support on x64? If
the application uses a 16-bit installer, it will not install.

I too, have a client that is installing Quark Xpress 6.1 Win32 on x64.
Although the Error 1720 appears, it seems quark is installed.
Then if you launch Quark from the Start menu, all seems to be in order.
Of course, plugins may be missing, but so far so good.

I have looked far and wide, and the only options I have found, along with
all your postings all over the net, is to use RoboHelp installer editor and
modify the erroneous installer script.
I didnt have the resources to do that, so I didnt.

Quark sucks!
