I've been using "newsid" to change the SID on cloned 32bit Terminal servers
for a number of years very sucessfully, I'm about to start doing a new x64
build.

Does anyone know if "newsid" works on x64, or if not an alternative that
does?

Thanks

Why don't you go to http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/NewSid.html
and ask them if the program is x64 compatible? It appears they are the
ones publishing the NewSID.

I was trying to find out if anyone had used it on an x64 system with out any
problems later on, or if not what they were using instead.

I know it will physically run on x64

There appears to be a quite an extensive Forum at SysInternals. I would
think there would be a significantly greater probability getting
relative and desired information in a more specialized forum.

I may be totally off base, though, but it seems to be logical to my way
of thinking. It is frequently stated that the best source is straight
from the horse's mouth.

Did this problem happen since mankind was created or after some update you
made on your machine?
NVidia new graphic drivers have to be installed after fully uninstalling
prior drivers.
Otherwise, strange things might happen.
I use a little program called NVXP-ALL.exe that modifies Nvidia drivers in
order to do the uninstall/install process in a single step.

It might be easier to "sysprep" the clone image then you wouldn't need
newsid at all.

Yes I do use Sysprep for workstations, although not got any x64 ones yet,
but for the Terminal Servers I always found it was easier if one went wrong,
to just pull one of the mirror drives out of a good one, put it in the bad
one, re-name it and newsid it.

I'll just have to give it a go and see what happens.
