Anybody know of Bluetooth stack software for x64? I bought a BT USB dongle,
which works fine on x86 with Toshiba's BT stack. They offer one for x64,
but I doesn't work for me. I'm trying to use a BT headset with my computer.

Thanks, and I hope everybody had a good Holiday season this year!

Hello Larry,
Windows XP X64 edition ships with a Bluetooth stack, I am not aware of
another Bluetooth stack for x64.
Microsoft's Bluetooth stack does not support the headset profile however,
so you would need another stack.
Thanks,

Hello Charlie,
Good to be back, this group does a really good job answering most of the

What exactly does "doesn't work" mean here? Does it mean the driver
can't be loaded? No connection is possible? Something else?

I've got a Kensington Bluetooth USB dongle, and that works, but not
without some inf file adjustment. As Darrel noted though, I'm limited to
what the MS stack supports, but it worked well enough for synching my Palm.

Nice...a bottom poster. At least somebody here knows how to post on Usenet!
:)

The x64 onboard BT stack does work, in that it sees the headset. And I can
connect to it. But as you both have pointed out, it's lacking the voice
modules. I was hoping that somebody had found another solution.

I'm currently using Dragon NatuallySpeaking Preferred on x64, and it's
great. I also have it on my laptop running x86. I can dictate an entire
page of text while driving and have 1 to 2 words that need correction. I
must say, I'm impressed. The headset I'm currently using is a legacy boom
mic. I'd like to move to Bluetooth. I borrowed a buddy's old BT headset to
see if I can set things up before I buy one. Not sure if it will achieve
the results of the legacy boom mic...but I'd like to try.
