There is any way to make AutoCAD 2006 work with XP 64bit Pro?
I've got Framework incomparabilitie message when I try to inastall
AutoCAD 2005 or 2006.
At the other hand AutoCAD 2004 work normaly.
I'm trying to understand where the emulator works for AutoCAD 2006
seems to me thats a bug that needs to be fixed.

You need to install Microsoft .NET Beta 2.0 for it to work properly on XP
64.

BETA means unsupported, pre-released software, not proven to be stable that
can cause conflicts with your software and system that you cannot use as an
excuse with help and support if you need to call them.

Andre,
What are you crying about? The .Net Beta 2 works fine, Acad 06 works fine
with it.....and after all, XP 64 is a "mostly unsupported" OS to hold us
over til Vista comes out anyway, is it not? Maybe I should have just
originally answered the first post with "NO, ACAD 2006 is incompatible with
XP 64 . Would that have made you happy? :) If you are afraid to try
Betas, you should go back to XP 32 where it is safer and leave the new stuff
to the more aggressive people. :)

Maybe Windows XP Professional x64 is a stop gap until Vista, but it ain't no
beta! The .NET Framework Beta 2 is just what it says, beta. But if the
person is desperate and wants to run CAD, fine be my guest. But if something
goes wrong as result of it, be prepared to read "I told you so". Its just a
warning, I am not telling Ibson, not to use it.

I wasn't having a pop at you Bob. I was querying Andre's rather pointless
post about ".NET Beta 2.0" being in beta. It's obvious from the tilte that
it's a beta, it will say so on the download page and it's up the OP whether
he wants to risk it. Probably fairly safe, since at least in your experience
it works!!

Whats pointless about giving someone a warning about a product that is beta?
Basically you are telling me its safe to use all beta products in

Andre, half of the hardware drivers and software patches that allow us to
even use XP 64 are Beta...........so I re-iterate, you need to go back to
the safety net of XP 32 if you are afraid of taking minimal risks. The
worst that can happen if something doesn't work is that you have to spend an
hour re-installing software, big deal. Some of "us" find it fun and
challenging trying new things and solving puzzles. You sound like a typical
negative attitude IT guy.

Andre is just being honest to those individuals who ended up with x64
without alot of research (salesman, sounded neat, etc) and who aren't into
devoting their lives to installing and reinstalling the system, replacing
most of their hardware and maybe most of their software and still not being
able to have the functionality that they had with x86. Let's not pretend
this is anything but a niche system for techies for the most part.

No, not at all. It's pointless saying that "ms .net ****BETA**** 2.0" is in
beta!!!! We know that from the title. You do see the word BETA in there
don't you???? If the advice had been download "MS .NET 2.0", then rightly
you would point out that it is still in beta.

Anybody who is tooling around with x64 will almost certainly have beta
drivers on their system just to get it running, so a beta of the .Net
framework is not scare anyone really is it. I started off with beta drivers
for mobo and sound card, and still have betas for the sound card because it
doesn't look like that Creative intend to release a full driver foe the
original Live!.
