I just d/ed & installed & ran Ad-aware 2008 beta. First time I could get
ad-aware to run correctly on my machine in Vista 64

Interesting direct d/l link, Hugh.
If you want to download it from the source (aka "Lavasoft") you have to
register.
http://www.lavasoft.com/support/securitycenter/beta_applications.php
Anyway, I stick to Windows Defender + the newest Avast 4.8 that has
antispyware capabilities too.

Yes I beta tested the product for awhile, then gave up on them ever getting
it right. Lost my password,so when I saw the beta on Winplanet I jumped on
it. It runs fine now,I knew they were getting close to getting it right, when
I installed the latest version of 2007.
I use that d/l link alot,has official releases & beta's too.

The "new" AVG 8.0 has anti-spyware & anti-root-kit. I use it. (:-)))).

I did a clean install of Vista 64 & Sp1 then used Acronis True Image to make
an image file. That Acronis software has been flawless for me. I really like
being able to mount the old Vista 64 & image(from within the "new" install
& copy files over to the new install.

Carlos Where's my "Take-Out"???

Just finished Spring clean -up here outside.........now got to tackle the
Garage this Saturday.........

Hugh,
Your take-out is in the fridge, waiting until you can afford the freight
charges!
:-)))))
This weekend I will have to climb onto the roof and check all the rain
drainage piping.
There must be something stuck up there that makes water descend through the
bedroom heater exhaust.
Also my elder son is moving and I will be surely doing repair and electric
tasks in his new house.

There's this unforgetable quote from the movie 'Blazing Saddles':

"Work,work, work, work!"
