I want to disable sfp in x64. What's the offset in sfc_os.dll and the value
at that address that needs to be changed. I want to load thigs faster. I can
always scan the system files later if needed.

Hello Bill,
There isn't a way to disable SFP in x64 other than hooking up a kernel
debugger, same as in x86.
222473 Registry Settings for Windows File Protection
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=222473

This shouldn't have any impact on loading items faster. The files are not
checked as there loaded, the files are only checked when there is a change
notification.
Then it;'s only the file or files that have changed that are impacted.
So unless you are changing a large number of OS files, this shouldn't make
any difference.

Thanks,

How do you hook up a kernel debugger. The SFCQuota key looks
interesting. It must limit size and save space. I want the freedom to erase
any file I want and if there's a problem run the old sfc/scannow and see
what's wrong.

There is a hack or tweak or whatever you want to call it for XP home
edition that allows you to delete folders that are for XP componets that you
have removed. To me this is saving space. Just like making the content of
the recycle bin smaller.

Hello Bill,
Here is an article on hooking up a kernel debugger:
900093 How to enable a remote kernel debugger connection on a computer that
is
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=900093

SFC /scannow is not a good tool to tell you what's wrong.
It's limited in what it can do.
It's real easy to get the wrong files into the system and it's not always
easy to get the correct file back.
